Moray Sports Centre Unveils Highlands’ First T-wall as Part of Major Community Reinvestment
Moray Sports Centre has unveiled the Highlands’ first T-wall, an innovative interactive fitness wall designed to improve accessibility, rehabilitation, and training opportunities for the whole community. The installation forms a key part of a wider programme of investment, as the Centre – a not-for-profit charity – continues to reinvest every pound back into facilities for local people.
As part of this major upgrade, Moray Sports Centre is also refreshing its gym floor with brand-new cardio and strength equipment, improving user experiences and offering more opportunities for members of all ages and abilities to stay active.
The T-wall is a 64-tile interactive wall that challenges users’ reaction speed, coordination, memory, and mobility. It is fully adaptable, allowing wheelchair users and individuals with conditions such as Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, and those recovering from strokes to engage in activities tailored to their needs. The equipment supports both physical fitness and neurological rehabilitation, with programmes that are equally popular among children, personal training clients, and specialist groups.
“Our investment in the T-wall is about far more than adding new technology to our facilities,” said Diane Oag, Health and Fitness Manager at Moray Sports Centre. “It’s about providing a platform for rehabilitation, for inclusion, and for fun. We are showing our members – and our wider community – that we are committed to meeting their needs and creating a space where everyone can thrive.”
Alongside the T-wall, Moray Sports Centre is also upgrading its cardiovascular equipment with five new treadmills and three new stair climbers featuring interactive virtual training screens and improved user connectivity. Strength training facilities are also being enhanced with new dual-assisted pulleys and a dedicated hip thrust machine, helping to improve access to equipment and reduce waiting times.
New layout changes will also create quieter, more welcoming spaces for junior members and those new to gym environments, encouraging confidence-building and progression into mainstream fitness activities.
Early feedback from users has already been overwhelmingly positive. in fact, Charis Smit, one of Moray Sports Centre’s longest registered members shared: “As a wheelchair user, I’ve loved how the T-wall allows me to build on my coordination, reaction times and balance, while also having a lot of fun – including some friendly competition against the MSC team.
“It really has been a fantastic addition to the services and equipment offered by MSC and really highlights the organisation’s aim of making the centre inclusive for everyone in our community.”
Moray Sports Centre continues to work closely with community groups to ensure its developments meet a wide range of needs, always with the goal of supporting healthier, more active lifestyles across Moray and the Highlands.
Diane added “Every decision we make is about creating opportunities for our community. This latest investment shows that we’re not only here to stay — we’re here to build a stronger, healthier future for Moray.”
